About My Practice

With 10 years of experience in the mental health field, I have the knowledge, skills and commitment to help you through difficult times. Watching my clients face and overcome challenges has given me a great appreciation for those courageous enough to make changes in their lives.

Even though things can feel uncertain or out of your control sometimes, you’re the expert on your own life and it's my job to find you the right tools. In my practice the most important task I undertake is empowering my clients. Work, relationships, mental health issues and life in general are extremely difficult to cope with and above all, people need to hear that their feelings about these areas are real. After all, this is what guides people to what's most important in life whether its love, acceptance, hope, self-compassion, etc... In order to do this I provide a trusting, non-judgmental, and empathetic therapeutic relationship.

In my practice I utilize insight-oriented therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and teach coping skills informed by a variety of modalities.

I have specialized training and expertise in working with: trans and nonbinary adults and LGBTQ+ adults; people who engage in kink/BDSM, poly/non-monogamy. In terms of diagnoses, I treat those with difficult life experiences, trauma, family/relationship conflicts, anxiety, depression, substance use issues, low self-esteem and anger issues.

Being trans, queer, kink-oriented, having trauma, mental health issues or just being different often means being told you're unlovable or inconvenient; in response, I recognize my clients' strengths and humanity. While I cannot radically change my clients' material circumstances, I teach skills to manage symptoms and navigate identity, oppression and recovery.
